Until All of Us Are Free

Cantare Chorale & Aurora Youth Choir

Saturday, May 16, 2026, 7:30pm - Lafayette-Orinda Presbyterian Church

We close our concert season commemorating the 250th Anniversary of the signing of The Declaration of Independence, featuring the Cantare Chorale and Aurora Youth Choir. Our concert title, Until All of Us Are Free, addresses its aspirations of unity, freedom, equality, the pursuit of happiness, the protection of individual rights and self-government in light of today’s realities. Included are William Billings Revolutionary song Chester (1778) and Hanson’s extended work from Walt Whitman’s “Leaves of Grass” entitled Song of Democracy, Garth Brooks’ We Shall Be FreeKeep Marching from the Broadway musical SuffsWhere Is the Love by the Black Eyed Peas, and settings of two spirituals. We also pay tribute to all who have served in our Armed Services with a medley of their iconic anthems, plus stunning arrangements of Lift EveryVoice and Sing and America the Beautiful

Ticket price: Pay-what-you-will

Our new 'Pay-What-You-Will' model ensures that financial barriers never prevent someone from experiencing our music. While we suggest a price of $25, guests are welcome to pay any amount that fits their budget—or even 'Pay It Forward' by contributing a higher amount to help cover the cost for a community member.
