Jun 19, 2012: Madrid

Your tour manager will meet you upon arrival in Spain and drive you to your comfortable, centrally-located hotel in Madrid, once capital of one the world’s greatest maritime empires. Enjoy a tour orientation and welcome dinner at a local restaurant this evening before returning to your hotel for a good night’s sleep!

Jun 20, 2012: Madrid

Your morning sightseeing with a local guide will present the highlights of the city including the Plaza Mayor, Puerta de Alcala and the Royal Palace. Entrance is included to the Prado Museum. This afternoon is free to stroll along the Gran Via and sample some Spanish tapas. Later, transfer to the concert venue to rehearse. You will perform your first concert performance today; venues include the Cathedral of Alcala de Henares and San Jeronimo el Real. Dinner will be on your own this evening.

Jun 21, 2012: Madrid

After breakfast, you will visit Segovia, a UNESCO heritage site surrounded by walls dating back to the 8th century. Segovia was influenced by both Moors and Romans with its impressive Roman Aqueduct, built in the 1st and 2nd centuries and remarkably well preserved. Here, visit one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in Europe and have entrance to the 11th century Alcazar. Enjoy lunch on your own before continuing to the stunning walled city of Avila. Your walking tour will include the Old Town, the Cathedral and a walk on the City Walls. This evening, you will give your next concert performance; venue options include the Monasterio de Santo Tomas de Avila, Auditorio de San Francisco, the Basilica of St. Vincent and Segovia Cathedral. Dinner will be together in a restaurant. Return to Madrid for overnight.

Experience the essence of traditional Spain this morning when you visit the medieval city of Toledo. Here, walk the winding streets to the Gothic Cathedral, the Synagogue and El Greco’s great painting in the Church of Santo Tome! Continue to the Moorish city of Granada. Check in to the hotel and have dinner together this evening.

After breakfast, your morning guided sightseeing tour will include the Alhambra Palace, one of the greatest accomplishments of Islamic art and architecture; also included are the beautiful Generalife Gardens! The highlight of your day will be your next concert performance in the Granada area; options include a festival performance and a joint concert with a local choir! Dinner will be on your own this evening.

Today, you will have an excursion to the `white city’ of Ronda. Enjoy free time for lunch and further exploration before returning to Granada for the evening. We could arrange an additional small town concert opportunity today, if desired. Dinner will be on your own this evening.

After breakfast, you will have a panoramic sightseeing tour including a visit to the cathedral. In the afternoon, enjoy time at leisure and prepare for your next concert. This evening, you will give your next concert performance at a local festival in the Valencia region. Dinner will be together in a restaurant this evening.

Depart north this morning for Barcelona. En route, you will visit the monastery at Montserrat! On arrival in Barcelona, check in to your hotel and enjoy dinner together at a local restaurant. Afterwards, perhaps stroll along Las Ramblas with your tour manager as you acquaint yourselves with this beautiful, vibrant city!

Jun 28, 2012: Barcelona

This morning, a local guide will take you on a sightseeing of Barcelona to see the major highlights of the city including entrance to the gothic cathedral. You will also see Gaudi’s unfinished Sagrada Familia, the famous Christopher Columbus statue erected in 1888 in the Plaza de La Paz and the Palau de la Musica. After lunch on your own, transfer to the venue and rehearse. This evening, you will give your final concert this evening; venue options include the Church of Santa Maria del Pi, Reus Conservatory and the Church of St. Jaume. Dinner will be on your own this evening.

Jun 29, 2012: Barcelona

You may choose to enjoy a full day at leisure in Barcelona or take an excursion to the Costa Brava today. The rugged Costa Brava coast stretches for 100 miles along the shores of Catalonia in Spain’s north-eastern corner. Your day will include a visit to the Dali Museum in Figueras and a walking tour of the Old Town of Girona. Later, return to Barcelona for a special farewell dinner this evening to end your successful tour of Spain.
