Arroz con leche (rice with milk) is one of the most popular desserts in the Latin world.

Simple sweet, it conjures up memories of home and is a supreme comfort food.

With that as our theme, the Chamber Ensemble joins with the renowned Bay Area instrumental ensemble Quijeremá in presenting a concert of Music from Latin America.

The Chamber Ensemble will offer stirring selections from various South and Central American countries, the Caribbean Islands and Mexico.

Quijeremá's music draws from the rhythms and songs of the African diaspora in Latin America, infusing original contemporary Latin American compositions with a unique sense of these ancient musical traditions.

The history of a great people that dominate our hemisphere will come alive through their music, narration and pictures.
